These instructions are designed to teach someone how to make a diaper cake. Some of you might wonder what is a diaper cake? It is a collection of diapers rolled and stacked together to resemble a traditional tiered cake. Making a diaper cake is easier than you may think. It will take you about an hour to make and when you are done you will be surprised with the creative baby gift you have created. Lets get started on making your first diaper cake.
Materials
Here is a complete list of materials you will need to make your diaper cake.
• A large table to work on.
• 60 stage one diapers (check with the expectant mother to find out which type of diapers she plans on using.)
• 60 small rubber bands
• 6 large rubber bands
• One 8oz baby bottle or one large bottle of baby lotion
• One 4oz baby bottle
• Ribbon that is one inch wide (pick a pattern that fits the sex of the baby)
• A cardboard or plastic cake platter
• Cake decorations of your choice
Now we will begin the steps of making your diaper cake. Be sure to follow the directions in order (first tier, second tier, third tier, and decorating.)
